How To Get A COVID-19 RT-PCR Test: Sao Paulo, Brazil (GRU) Airport 😷

If you’re traveling internationally (during the Summer of 2021 and possibly beyond? 🤷🏾‍♀️), then you’ll most likely need a COVID test. And not just any COVID test, but an RT-PCR test!

The process for obtaining a test varies based on where you are, but if you happen to be in Sao Paulo, then follow these simple steps to get your results in four hours or less! 😲

  • Go to the GRU Airport - Guarulhos Airport is the full name

  • Go to terminal three near the Burger King

  • If you don’t speak Portuguese, then request an attendant who speaks your language

  • The name of the lab can be found here.

  • Bring your passport

  • Provide your Brazil address. You can use your accommodation’s address if you don’t reside in Brazil.

  • Be ready to provide your phone number, email address and flight itinerary

  • Pro Tip: If you’re flying LATAM airlines, then you’ll receive a 10% discount!

  • Cost of the PCR test is R$350 or about $70 USD

After you complete the registration process, then brace yourself for the uncomfortable test. 😪 At least it only lasts ten seconds or so. The longest ten seconds ever. 😰

Final step? Watch your email like a hawk for the results and hope they are negative. And that’s it! Super simple. 😁
